Could someone who's tested ASP.NET AutoPostBack objects on PocketIE 2002
let me know how successful/unsuccessful their endeavor was? Thanks,
Christopher Miller

Christopher,

Do you have a particular page I can browse with PocketIE 2002?

Also, please be aware that I have the iPaq PocketPC 2002 Upgrade... If I remember correctly, there is some functionality missing between the upgrade and the new iPaq's that came with the PocketPC 2002 installed by default.

There are some applications missing in the PPC2K upgrade because of the
32MB of ROM restraint. You can download them from www.pocketpc.com.
There is no OS functionally missing from the upgrade.=20

George,

Thanks for the reply..

I was under the impression that Pocket IE in the Professional version (the
Upgrade) of Pocket PC 2002 does not have WAP Support built into it, which
the Premium version does.

Please see this link that refers to a response from the Compaq iPaq mobile
solutions Team... http://www.brighthand.com/biz/features/compaqreply.html .
I also remember reading something along the same lines in an article by the
Giga information group.

Anil,

Yes, I do remember I had to install a WAP broswer. I guess I was
talking more about OS functionality rather than application. But point
well taken. =20

BTW, I don't think "auto postback" is going to work on a WAP browser.

Full client-side validation functionality requires full IE 4.0 level DOM
and scripting support, which the browser in a PPC does not have.

Thanks,

AHh, so .NET doesn't compensate by checking the HTTP_USER_AGENT? Just
thought it would "downgrade" to the appropriate browser.

Given the busyness of the last couple days of testing (and a clearing of

There are some applications missing in the PPC2K upgrade because of the
32MB of ROM restraint. You can download them from www.pocketpc.com.
There is no OS functionally missing from the upgrade.=20

Christopher,

Do you have a particular page I can browse with PocketIE 2002?

Also, please be aware that I have the iPaq PocketPC 2002 Upgrade... If I
remember correctly, there is some functionality missing between the
upgrade and the new iPaq's that came with the PocketPC 2002 installed by
default.

Anil

Could someone who's tested ASP.NET AutoPostBack objects on PocketIE 2002
let me know how successful/unsuccessful their endeavor was? Thanks,
Christopher Miller
