Greetings,
I am currently using the Openwave UP.Simulator 4.1 Emulator to browse a
mobile page. The site has cookieless sessions turned on and the emulator is
unable to render the page.
The error I am getting is "AfxParseURL couldn't parse the URL" :
/(ajfljdfjdf)/mDefault.aspx.
I do NOT have the problem if I use a cookie enabled session. i.e It would
appear that the emulator is having problems with the encoded cookie in the
url. No problems of course browsing the site using either IE or PocketIE.
Is this a known problem (I was not able to find anything at the support site
related to this) or am I doing something wrong that is blindingly obvious to
everyone except me :)

Anil, this sounds like a bug in the UP emulator itself. AfxParseURL is a
name of a function in MFC, which the emulator was probably written with.
Also note: OpenWave's site states that version 4.1 is not supported on
Windows 2000, due to an error with redirects. (The 4.0 one works fine if
you can find it)
One thing you can try doing is to set the site (if it isn't already) to
use fully qualified redirect URLs. There's a web.config setting for
this, as follows:
<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl=3D"true" />

Shanku,
Thanks... The config.web setting resolved the problem..
I am assuming that this setting allows a workaround the redirect bug that
you had mentioned exists with the Openwave 4.1? Is there any downside to
this setting when used for mobile apps?
Anil
