Yes, and I quote from earlier postings:
"Have you any idea of what this can be. I mean, it obviously has been
and issue with others, as this rather cryptic message from someone with
the microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet.security list had had the
same or a similar problem:
//////// SNIP //////////////////
uh.. "firstweb" has 8 characters... "secondweb" has 9... now.. having
that in mind.. make sure ASPNET account has read permissions on the
whole structure above. kinda weird.. i can't remember what the problem
was.. when the directory has more than 8 characters.. try hitting the
knowledge base.. PS.. try renaming "firstweb" to "firstweb1" -- see if
you get the same error.. //////// SNIP //////////////////
Could it have to with the naming of the folder, as this works
("\webhot\family__.se\http\"), but this doesn't
("\webhot\familylife.se\http\")?"
Somehow this is some kind of bug, but Microsoft has not responded to
this call at all. I asked for a reaction or explanation, but got
nothing. Maybe MS don't know what it is or what's causing this.

I have a web server that I have added the .Net framework to and any
website that has a root directory that has a name greater then 8
characters, the ASP.Net Pages Fail. You can copy the code to a site
with a short name and it works, or, if you rename the directory
(something less than 8 characters) it works.
Has anyone else seen this?
Thanks,
Rob C.

Adding the ASP.Net User to the directory above the site root did fix the
issue, thanks. It is strange that Microsoft has not commented on this
issue (I await there thoughts on it - as I am of the Lock Down IIS as
much as possible attitude).
Thanks again.
