I am curious about membership in this Yahoo list. As it is a new list
it would be nice to discover the interests of the members. I will start
and if anyone would like to submit information it may open up some
topics for dialogue.
I currently support programming for 9 live stores with 2 under
construction waiting on merchandise data.
I am a strong supporter of the dataupload and imageupload tools and will
be happy to help anyone with this aspect of the stores
I currently export all data via csv files to a sqlserver database and am
working on an xml export utilizing .Net
The SQL Server mirror has been incremental in creating
backorder/customer communication and vendor communication modules.
I am not proficient with RTML but have managed to wade my way through it
to some degree to alter some of the templates on our sites although I
typically find it more time consuming than the ultimate result is worth.
This is not a list for RTML but I would be interested if other people
have pursued this Yahoo language.

Hi Ronda,
I am a very experienced developer but I am a newbie to the Yahoo stores. I
am very interesting in learning to setup stores for soft - downloadable
products with credit card processing using C# and .NET.
What are some of the stores that you have setup - I would like to visit
them. Is the "SQL Server mirror" a site and if so what is the URL?

David,
We have several stores. We do not have 'mirror' sites but we have a
mirror database which holds order and product info for all of our
stores. The actual domain names point to our server but redirect out to
Yahoo. We did it this way in the event we decided to relocate the
business to our server or another 'store' situation and so that we could
have control of traffic monitoring. I don't know that your C#, .Net
experience is going to come into play much with the Yahoo stores other
than creation of modules to export to a SQL server.
One of the stores that we have is www.slipperstore.com which points to
the yahoo store
http://store.yahoo.com/onlineslippers
Sorry this does not help you much... We do have a yahoo store and a sql
store for lingerie that carry the same products but they are not tied
together. We run the cc processing through the same account but the
stores are totally independent.
Hope this answered your questions adequately. Feel free to write again
should you have additional questions.
Ronda

Also, where can we go to learn the basics of "yahoo stores"?
Thanks, Ronda!

Now you have hit the nail on the head as to why we need this list.
There is very little documentation.
The 'basics' which just covers the graphic interface is here:
http://store.yahoo.com/howitwor.html
Upload instructions are here:
http://store.yahoo.com/upload.html
An overview for RTML which I did not find tremendously helpful is here:
http://store.yahoo.com/vw/ov.html
That is about all I have...
