I have an application written in ASP.NET. I just decided to provide the
application on a 'web server' by itself and place it on another port. In
IIS, I created the 'new' webserver, configured it for another port (other
than 80), and configured extensions (though I don't believe really
required). Now I can still access the page but the webcontrols that 'were'
working are no longer working. If I go to the webpage through the default
server and use the
http://localhost/mypages
then its fine. Only when I use
the 'new' webserver (
http://localhost:10000/mypages
) that the webcontrols
don't work. The interesting thing is that I haven't moved or changed the
folders location. The home folder location for the default webserver is
c:\inetpub\wwwroot and the home folder location for the new webserver is
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\mypages.
(I tried removing and re-installing the webcontrols and that did not fix
the problem.) It may be that the 'asp.net application' is looking for the
controls relative to it's folder position and now that the new webserver
has a home folder directly specified, it can't find the webcontrols in the
relative path... If that's the case, how do I fix it :)
Any help would be appreciated... it may just be a simple fix.

Tim,
There's a folder under C:\inetpub\wwwroot called webctrl_client that the
webcontrols need to work correctly.
So, the easiest solution is to add a virtual directory called webctrl_client
that points to the original webctrl_client directory.
That should be all you need to do.
HTH,
Mark
