I have been using VS.NET since it was released and everything has worked
fine. However, now every time I try to browse to an aspx page on my
machine I get a "The page cannot be displayed" message in my browser. I
am on a domain controller, and I was running the processModel account
under a custom account. I tried switching it to MACHINE to confirm that
causes a:
"aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username and/or
password supplied in the processModel section of the config file are
invalid."
And it did. I then changed the processModel account to SYSTEM as
suggested by Scott Guthrie. This returned me to the very generic and
non-descript "The page cannot be displayed" message. In my global.asax,
I log any unhandled exceptions by handling the
HttpApplication
.Error
event.
Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this behavior to start
happening?

In case anyone else ever experiences this. I had to uninstall .net SP1
and re-install it. That fixed the problem. =20
