Hi all,
I have a webservice, and I need to call this web service from my VB6.0.
Currently I am using XMLHTTP component to talk to my web service in VB6.0.
I have seen the tool tlbexp.exe in .NET. which converts .NET dlls to com dlls.
I have followed these steps
* Created a Web service
* Created a Proxy class
* Created a DLL from this Proxy Class
* used tlbexp.exe to create tlb file.
Now I am referring this xyz.tlb file in my VB6. But I am getting the error,
"ActiveX cannot create object" error.
First of all, am I doing the correct thing?
If Yes.. then what is the thing that I am missing.
My onother question is... when I create a tlb file and send it to a client who
donesn't have .NET framework installed in his system, will this component (tlb)
works?
Thanks in advace for all the help that you provide me.

The Lacey's
Try using the SOAP Toolkit v2 or beta v3 if your are daring. Its pretty
straight forward from there.
Good luck.
Martin.

<P>If you fallow this approch, Clients also needs .Net plat form to use it. <BR>Also You did not registered that dll, you have to register it, inorder to use. That is another problem.<BR><BR>My suggestion for you are, [Since you are thinking clients many not have .Net],<BR>1. Use SOAP Tool kit to make web services and by using the same kit you can consume them. In Soap Tool Kit SDK you can find examples related to that.</P>
<P>2. If you have sqlserver2000, then by usign SQLXML also you can make web services and you can use them in your applications. [only works for SP's and xml files]<BR><BR>3. If you have win2000 and com+1.5 , By usign that you can expose components as Web services.<BR><BR>Good Luck<BR>Sreedhar<BR><A href="
