Here is the situation:

Machine A has SQL Server 2000 and ASP.NET Framework. Everything works like a
charm.
Machine B is connected to machine A via workgroup and has ASP.NET Framework.
ASP.NET web applications on machine B cannot connect to SQL Server on
machine A.

When tracing the SQL on the server, I can see that .net is trying to connect
using the ASPNET Windows account. Of course, the ASPNET account on machine B
has a different password than the ASPNET account on machine A, so the login
attempt fails.

What am I supposed to do? Make the password for ASPNET user be the same on
both machines? Windows threatens me with all kinds of data losses if I do
this. Unfortunately, SQL Server does not have a "SQL only" security option.

All help would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance,

Oliver.

are you using a correct SQL login connection string?
