I need to get around the 'Permission denied' error with a simple VB.NET/
Windows 2000 web application where I open files (.doc, .html) from remote
resources with the OpenFileDialog class. For security reasons, my
application should run under a different user account than IUSR_
ComputerName on the Web server. Where can I change the default user that
runs my application on the Web server?
thx in advance

By Default if you are using NT Authentication you should be able to just set the permissions on the file to whom ever is suppose to have rights to the file and the system should grant access as long as they are using IE and are longed into the domain. Remove right to IUSER_.

Is this an ASP.NET Web Forms application or a WinForms application? The
OpenFileDialog class is in the System.Windows.Forms namespace; are you
instantiating that on the client side in your ASP.NET app?

If that's the case, I'm guessing it would use the client-side permissions,
but I'm not sure.
