if anyone has already answered this please forward. I somehow accidentaly
withdrew myself from the list

I just ran into this issue. Not sure what the problem is. I have built
several apps in C# for asp.net and lately tried to incorporate a classic asp
page into one of them. I keep getting an error even if the classic asp page
has no code in it. The error is simply this:

The remote procedure call failed.

anyone have any Ideas.

Do any ASP pages work on that server? Maybe it's the connection between IIS
and ASP that's broken.

any asp.net pages comes up on the server but no classic asp pages. even if
I have one of the asp.net pages redirect to a asp classic page in the same
directory it comes up with that error. There are articles in microsoft's
knowledge base but the solution isn't applicable.

OK, so ASP is broken, and it has nothing to do with ASP.NET. You should
probably move this question to one of the classic ASP lists.

The first thing I'd check is the ISAPI filters in IIS. You'll see several
entries for ASP.NET, like extensions ASPX, ASMX, etc. all mapping to
aspnet_isapi.dll. You need an entry in there for extensions ASP and ASA
mapping to asp.dll.
