Hello,

if I make changes to the source of the portal and the shop and I want to
install the customized version to a customer, is there any possibility
that I can install the portal or the shop on a webserver without copying
the complete sourcefiles to the webserver? I think all the .vb files in
the folder components will be compiled to the dll. So can I remove the
components folder completely after I have compiled the dll on my
developing machine and the shop or the portal will still run on the
webserver? What is with the code behind files? Are they needed at the
server or are they also compiled to the dll? If not, is there any tool
which is like zend optimizer vor php which encodes the source so that
not everyone can copy it?

Regards
Stefan

Hi,

Once its compiled, you can remove all the .vb files. So, the only files
you need are images, Web controls (.ascx) Webforms (aspx), Assembly
(.DLL), and Global.asax.

Yes, This is correct. One of the things we had to deal with a client
is the fact the DLL's can be decompiled. To protect your code for sure,
it should be obfuscated. You can check out http://www.remotesoft.com
for more details on this.
