Dont agree, isn't this just a case of drilling down - surely one of the
best bits of crystal reporting, which is probably what Nick should be
using anyway.

Is this a quiz page? If not I will have to moralize just a bit :), and
say that it is not a good idea to have a user click 3 times to get to
the end result.

Web Services are good for:
1. Between enterprises where the other systems are not known.
2. When data must be shared over some type of connection that does not
allow communications over COM, CORBA, or other protocols reliably.
Web Services are not good for:
1. Replacing existing components that operate over a reliable network,
such as an Internal fixed network.
2. Situations where speed is the deciding factor. Web Services are slow
compared to existing communications protocols.
Web Services are not a "snake oil". They are not good for all that ails
you. Do not rip out an existing infrastrucuture that runs and replace it
with Web Services. They are great for inter-enterprise communications,
not for everything that is intra-enterprise.

Standefer, Robert E
I'll add to that by saying that Web services are good for large
organizations that have several disparate computing environments (such as my
employer). We have applications running on Apache, iPlanet, IIS, S/390,
AS/400, and countless other systems, all over the world. We're looking at
Web services to help bridge some of those internal applications.
That's just another example that kind of supports the pro point #1 in
Wally's post.

Plewnia, Bogdan
Let me add some other places to the list where web services fit or may fit.
Devices - like digital scanners, digital copiers, printers, etc.
There has been quite an interseting activity there recently. So, we maybe
seing devices coming out that will support this type of I/F
bogdan
