I need to display a blank value as well as other values. I do not want to
alter any current records but just be able to display this blank value
amongst the list.
I have not been able to figure out how to do this in a combo box. Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

Carl,
I think it's getting too late at night to be doing this. I'm making too
many typos....Anyway, here is the code from my previous post. It should be
OK now.

DataRow myRow = ds.Tables[0].NewRow();
myRow["VALUE_COLUMN_NAME"] = DBNull.Value;
myRow["DISPLAY_COLUMN_NAME"] = "";
ds.Tables[0].Rows.InsertAt(myRow,0);

control.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;
control.DisplayMember = "DISPLAY_COLUMN_NAME";
control.ValueMember = "VALUE_COLUMN_NAME";

Follow up question:

I believe adding an empty row to the datatable to be bound to a combobox is
an ideal thing to do since without it, one need to add additional handling
on clearing a selection, etc. However until now, I haven't encountered any
tips about this issue, can you lighten me up.

Carl, usually what I do is I'll add a new row to the view.

//assume ds is a dataset

DataRow myRow = ds.Tables[0].NewRow();
myRow[valueMember] = DBNull.Value;
myRow[displayMember] = "";
ds.Tables[0].Rows.InsertAt(myRow,0);

control.DataSource = ds.Tables[0].DefaultView;
control.DisplayMember = "DISPLAY_COLUMN_NAME";
control.ValueMember = "VALUE_COLUMN_NAME";
