Dann Sheridan has posted the attached to another (even quieter!) list, I
thought I'd copy it here.
He hasn't mentioned it, but of course there's the Wrox Hailstorm book too, a
rather nice introduction from what I have seen.
Who here has successfully implemented Alerts? How did you find it?

I believe that alerts are not fully implemented in the current build.
(Could be wrong).

AFAIK Alerts aren't supported to the populous until the Alerts SDK has been
released, no doubt places like e-bay who I think already have implemented it
have worked closely with Microsoft so have had access to the My services
team.
(I should read all of Ollie's e-mail not just the interesting bits!)

The demonstration Microsoft gave in London the other day suggested it wasn't
complete, although my understanding is that there is a beta version of the
Alerts SDK available for testing. It's that which I am interested in - i.e.
has anyone had any success in implementing a test system using that release.

Hi,
I think MS are being strangely cagey with the MS Alerts SDK as it is simply
a ramp up until the point that MyAlerts works within My Services, so (for a
change) they are probably getting it right as well as fixing the bugs
already there. That's about as much as we're likely to get until mid-Spring
when the public beta is rumored to be arriving. I have seen an Alerts
Thanks for the plug on the book though.
Don't forget to check that those schemas haven't changed once in a while.
That was the bane of finishing the book.

Phil,
According to IBM's marketing machine and the eBay CEO, it
looks like they are moving to WebSphere:
http://www.ibm.com/software/info/websphere/media/Chuck
_Geiger.asf
Given that, I doubt that they will see .NET My Services
as a strategic direction. Looks like IBM dangled a great
price infront of them to get the deal - I don't know if
the CEO really believes everything he is saying.
