MSMQ Option

Hi All,

We need to communicate between our application servers in different offices.
Right now the only link available between two offices is through Mail.
Both the offices use Exchange Server 5.5.
Will it be possible to make a communication like.

App Server 1 ---> MSMQ 1 ---> Exchange Connector ---> Exchange Server 1 --->
SMTP Mail ---> Exchange Server 2 ---> Exchange Connector ---> MSMQ 2 --->
App Server 2

Both App servers run on Separate LANS and have only static IPS. Our network
admins have ruled out VPN, live ip options.

Is there a better solution for communication between the appservers

Sendhil,

I don't think it is possible with Exchange 5.5, it might
be an option with Exchange 2000, however I heard that
it only works over Exchange's internal protocol. If you
a bridging the systems via SMTP it doesn't work.

You could employ BizTalk, in fact that is just what
it is designed for. Its fairly odd that you can get
SMTP opened up between the networks and not HTTP.
